Guadalupe Radio Network KATH 2010 Spring ‘Celebrate the Year of Priests’ Radiothon Update

Guadalupe Radio Network station KATH AM910 started its pledge drive this week celebrating the Year for Priests!

Today is the day! The Spring Radiothon for KATH begins today from 8am-7pm on 910 AM. Now more than ever it’s important to have the voice of Truth, the voice of our beloved Catholic faith on the radio here in North Texas. The theme of the radiothon is ‘Celebrating the Year for Priests’ as we give thanks to the men who bring us Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and the other Sacraments.

Please help us make this first day of the Radiothon a big success to ensure that Catholic radio remains on Catholic Radio in North Texas. We ask that you remember to do the following today:

1. Please pray for the Radiothon. If possible, offer up the success of the Radiothon at Mass or visit our Lord in adoration, say a rosary, the Divine Mercy, etc. This will help immensely.
2. Please call 800-476-3311 to make your pledge of support today between 8am-7pm.
3. Please call or email your friends and family to ask them to make their pledge today as well. You can simply forward this email and let them know that you are planning to make a pledge today as well.

More Power to St. Valentine!

KDJW Catholic Radio in Amarillo Texas – St. Valentine’s Catholic Radio – is getting a huge power boost!

KDJW, Saint Valentine’s Catholic radio, is bumping up it’s power from 500 to 6,000 watts in the next couple months.

They’ll offer traditional Catholic programming to hundreds of thousands of Panhandle listeners with increased wattage to help spread the word across rural areas.

General Manager Sister Miriam Grady says, “Catholic radio is really a perfect tool, especially for this area that’s so spread out trying to reach so many people with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ…and being able to just get behind a mike and do that, is awesome!.”

There have been a few delays, but they’re hoping to switch over their high powered station around June 1st and hope to start offering up Spanish programming in the not too distant future.

Aggie Catholics get Second Catholic Radio Station serving Bryan Texas!

Bryan Texas is currently served by with 96.9 KACB. This is a low power station serving the student population – but a second station is in the works!

But, I am also guessing that very few know that Bryan/College Station is going to soon have a second Catholic radio station – KEDC 88.5 FM.  This radio station is being started by a group of local Catholics who have a passion for evangelization, of course most of them are Aggie Catholics.  They believe they will go live by March and they will carry a mix of shows from both EWTN Radio and Relevant Radio.  Later they will develop a few local shows, but remain mostly the mix from EWTN and Relevant.  The group that started the station is RED-C Apostolate (Religious Education for the Domestic Church).
